Best quality Malaysian food I have ever tasted in the UK. Very simple decor, quite small so recommend booking if in a party of more than two. Very friendly staff, food came quickly. BYOB with no corkage is definitely a bonus if you drink alcohol. A nice range of non alcoholic drinks is available. Food is ridiculously fresh and tasty. Nasi lemak is served as standard with main dishes, delicious. The roti canai was so good we ordered extra portions....
The best Malaysian food i've had. Each curry has its own character, meat was so tender and lots of veggie dishes! Defo order a variety of dishes and share for the best experience. Very good value for money for the portion size. 5*
Kuala Lumpur Café is a Malaysian restaurant Headingley. It is a small, tucked away restaurant, but it is packed with flavor. The menu features a wide variety of Malaysian dishes and there are also plenty of vegan options available.
The food at Kuala Lumpur Café is delicious and authentic. The flavors are bold and complex, although could be spicier. The sambal was a bit disappointing. The portions are decent, could be bigger, and the prices are very reasonable.
The service at Kuala Lumpur Café is friendly and attentive.
Overall, Kuala Lumpur Café is a great place to try authentic Malaysian food. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I recommend it.
Had lovely food and good quantity as well as quality. We went around 3pm so had less rush. Really impressed with the food, nice blend of flavours and even Tea was also top notch. We had Beef rendang and Chicken curry (forgot name). Both had different taste and if you want spicy they will make it normal asian spicy level. Overall highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again to try other dishes.
Upon being greeted we immediately felt welcome and comfortable. The aesthetics may be limited but the manners and warm smiles are far from it. We sat down and ordered a two courses, the first of which arrived promptly. Spring rolls which were packed well. The main course wasn't far behind which was great, I even sent my compliments to the chef. Would highly recommend you support this small local business, tucked away in the bowels of Headingley. Hope this helps
I was really excited to attend this cafe as I live Malay food, been to Malaysia 7-8 times and eaten really good Malay in London. I am afraid this was not Malay food. Everything had about 20 teaspoons of sugar, in fact all the dishes we ordered were overloaded with sugar and I have never eaten Malay curries which were more sugar than flavour. The satay meat was ok but the home
made sauce rustic peanut sauce lacked flavour and consistency. It was very rough and ready and again full of sugar. The Chicken pastries were hard and flavourless. Only the roti was passable as a bread but then these are bought frozen and heated up. A real shame as this could have been a staple restaurant we could attend regularly . This is clearly a restaurant for people who have never experienced real Malay cuisine.
This is brilliant! The staff were lovely and the premises were spotless.
Lovely quaint little cafe. The food was lovely and it all came out really quickly. It was so filling and the portions were perfect!
I had the Tofu Remdang curry (number 13), and the Tofu Sambal (number 3 in the menu). I really recommend it. The dish was fresh flavourful and well balanced. I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend everyone to visit this lovely place.
Stopped here when we were on a trip to Leeds and wanted to have Malaysian for dinner. I must say this is Authentic Malaysian food. Ordered satay, nasi lemak, roti canai and beef rendang. I must say, the rendang was too good, Cooked perfectly. Generally rendang is not cooked well in restaurants because it takes time and restaurants do find shortcuts but here, the rendang was authentic and tasted amazing. The quantity of satay and the peanut sauce was generous. The nasi lemak was good as other dishes. The prices are reasonable. This is a small cozy cafe. There is free parking by the Bennet road. The service was good.
